Introduction |
||||||
The department of Ophthalmology was started on 24th November, 2008 with the joining of Dr. T. Natung as Assistant Professor and In-charge. The department provides treatments for various conditions of eye. It also runs Undergraduate MBBS course as well as Post-Graduate course in Ophthalmology (MS Ophthalmology). The post-graduate intake is 2 (two) students per year.

• The department is well equipped with the following state-of-the-art instruments:-
• Haag Streit Slit lamps, • Humphry Visual Field Analysers, • Fundus Flourescein Angiography Unit, • Retinal Laser Unit (Double frequency Nd: YAG Laser), • Lumera T Operating Microscope and Leica M822 with CCTV, • Phacoemulsification Systems: Oerteli Pharos and Alcon Laureate, • B – Scan ( Ocular ultrasonography), • Optical Coherence Tomogram, • Autokeratorefractometer, • A-Scan & Keratometers, • Synophtophore, • IOL Master-500, • Pachymeter. |

The department of Ophthalmology has state-of-the-art facilities for diagnostic, therapeutic and surgeries for the patients. - Monday to Friday: from 9 AM to 4 PM. o Specialty Services: 1. Phaco-refractive surgeries: Different types of cataract surgeries with premium IOLs viz Trifocal IOLs, Toric IOLs, Trifocal-Toric IOLs etc. are routinely done by phacoemulsification and other techniques. • Operation Theatre - The department of Ophthalmology has a state-of-the-art operation theatre and provides surgical facilities on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. • Cross-consultations - Cross-consultations from various departments are attended every day. |
